A Beautiful Sight

A couple of days ago, I was working around the house. I was inside, outside,,,,running around here like crazy. All of the sudden I look at one of my bird baths and I see this Colorful Sight; A pair of Summer Tanagers!!
This is an interesting bird and I enjoy them so much! It is known as the "beebird". From what I have read, they LOVE to eat bees and wasps. They will catch one in mid-air,,,,they will carry it back to a tree branch and "WHACK" it on the tree branch to kill it! Then they will wipe it on the tree branch to get rid of the stinger before they eat it. AMAZING, huh??
I have enjoyed these birds for some time. I can recognize their song now! The funny thing is, the male is this Beautiful RED color. I can hear one singing in a tree close by, and I cant find him anywhere! How can he be such a bright red color and yet so well camouflaged in a tree??
I cant write about summer tanagers and leave out the female! She is always described as an olive color,,,,this one that I saw the other day, SHE WAS YELLOW! She was Beautiful! I see the males much more often than I see females. That makes it more Special when I see a female!

Never heard of these birds at all! I'd love to see the Yellow female. I never see yellow birds! And yep, amazing about how they get rid of the stinger of the bee.
