Weighing heavily on my heart,,,,,,,,,,,,

For the last several weeks something has been on my mind and in my heart,,,,,,

I have someone in my life who has always been so SPECIAL to me!

My Grandma!

My Grandma was ALWAYS a close friend to me! I could always be honest and open with her, I could always be myself when I was with her!
I didnt always feel that way with my parents,,,,,,,,,SO I always had her! I could always go to her with problems. I could always go to her with good news in my life,,,,,I didnt always feel that way with my MOM. I felt like my MOM could always burst my balloon when I was happy or excited about something! Grandma never judged me,,,,,,she definitely loved me UNconditionally!!!!

I will be 40 years old this year. My Grandma turned 81 this year.
My Grandma has always been a healthy, pretty happy, vibrant woman,,,,Always Full of energy. She was never one to sit around the house.....she was ALWAYS busy! In fact, for many many years she was self-employed. She was a wallpaper hanger.......she retired only a couple of years ago! Once when I was about 17 or 18, I went with her on a job,,,,,,,,SHE WORKED CIRCLES AROUND ME!!! She wore me OUT!!!!! LOL
About 2 years ago, Grandma broke a hip, had surgery, had therapy and she has done SO WELL eversince!! She is so Blessed with good health!
I know, you are waiting for a "but"...........and here it is.................
For as long as I can remember, My Grandma has believed that my Grandpa has run around on her! I dont know if I ever believed that or not,,,,,,,Knowing my Grandpa, it is HARD to believe! But I always "listened" to her and yes, I usually sympathized with her!!
Now that she is older, it is worse than ever! She believes Grandpa is doing it NOW, MORE THAN EVER! She even knows the "other woman's" name!! I think my Grandpa is 84 now, his eyesight is BAD, he cant get his license renewed, HE CANT DRIVE!!!! My Mom says she just wants "proof", but Grandma cant seem to provide her with proof!!
Anyway,,,,,,,I could go on and on,,,,,,,,
But these last few weeks I have had her on my mind,,,,,,,I invited her to come down for a visit(I live in GA, she lives in IL) My husband and I talked about it, we were prepared so that IF she came down for a visit, and didnt want to ever go back, we were OK with that! I think I have left out a couple of important parts of the story,,,,,She keeps writing me these Horrible, Depressing letters about how she is looking for a place to live, and that she will start looking for a job(she is 81!!) and SHe is going to LEAVE Grandpa!!
My best friend said, "She's got to know that she is writing these letters to someone who loves her very much! Of course you are going to want to do something to HELP her!"
SO I wrote her a letter, pouring my heart out to her, My husband CALLED her. My husband is the type of person you cant say no to,,,,,,,he wont let you give excuses, he'll shoot every one of them DOWN! SO he told her he'd give her a few days, then he would call her again and she'd have to give him a DATE that he could drive up there and get her!
The days passed, he called her back, she told him she couldnt come,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
She said her health is bad,,,,,,she just cant come,,,,,,,
I was crushed! I was so upset!!
But in a way, I guess I shouldnt be surprised,,,,,,she is 81 years old, IL is her HOME!
I just HATE the thought that she is this age, and she is SO miserable! She is HATING life right now! and I cant do ANYTHING about it!!! But that Unhappiness,,,,,how much of it is she bringing on herself??? She has people who love her,,,,,,she has people who have offered all kinds of "help", she always has excuses! She is full of EXCUSES!
You cant help someone, unless they are willing to help themselves!!!!!
I will go on loving her,,,,,,I will go on praying for her everyday!
