A Memory

I was just thinking about this time last year,,,,,,,actually a little later in the month,,,,,,,,I was sick, I had the old fashioned FLU! I was miserable! Went to the Emergency Room one night because I was in tears from being in so much pain! We missed the Christmas Program at Church. Also,,,,,our beagle, Dory went missing. I was sick and wanted to put up posters, but just couldnt for a few days! Finally I did and I also put ads in the paper. I had run the ad for a couple weeks. Part of me said to just give it up, stop the ads, stop the posters,,,,,,but a bigger part of me said to run an ad ONE MORE TIME! and my best friend encouraged me to do what felt right!! SO I ran the ad one more time and we got a phone call!!!!!!! Next thing I know, Dory is at home!! (She had been missing for like, 23 days!!)
We loved Dory so much,,,,,after that episode, she was more special than ever!
I guess its been about a month and a half since DORY was hit by a car,,,,,,and I still cry over that. It hurts so bad. I sometimes cant help but feel like it is my fault!! We are responsible for our children and we are responsible for our pets..........In 2002, we moved into this house and we were so excited to have a fenced in yard just for the dogs! Well, of course, "I" had dogs who wouldnt stay in the fence!!!They would find a way to dig out! SO I just let them stay out of the fence and now I have had 2 dogs hit by cars right here in front of my house! You'd think ONE day I would learn that I am just NOT MEANT to have dogs!
