Cartoon CLASSICS

I have been wanting to write about this for some time.....and then I see where my best friend just wrote about something very similar to this on her blog!!!

I cant believe my daughter, who is 6 yrs old loves some of the same cartoons that I loved when I was a little girl. I AM 39 YEARS OLD!!!! She loves Scooby Doo!(some of these are from 1969!! 1972!!! WOW!!) She likes to watch Yogi Bear, she likes The Jetsons, she likes Tom and Jerry. I could go on and on, but right now I cant think! Anyway, how can she enjoy those same cartoons that I did!?? I guess thats what makes them CLASSICS!!!
ALso, the other day we were driving to school and we were singing 80's songs TOGETHER!!!!!! Her DAD and I like all different kinds of music,,,,,,and I guess that is rubbing off on her! I was raised in a family where we were exposed to lots of different kinds of music and movies,,,,and I LOVE THAT! SO now I can pass that on to my daughter!! I can make sure she is exposed to different kinds of ART, movies, music, books,,,,,,,,,
Have you ever met someone who is close to your same age but lets say for example, they dont know who Bob Hope was?? Or better than that, they dont know who Brad Pitt is?? You think, WHAT?? How in the world do you NOT know who Brad Pitt is??
Not that that should be a no#1 priority in your life, to know who certain "actors" are,,,,,,,,,I'm not saying that,(and I could give other examples like historical events or people in history),,,,,,But just to be a well-rounded individual who has experienced all different kinds of music and movies and cultures and history,,,,,,,That is something about myself that I am thankful for! and I guess I am Thankful mostly to my parents for that!

Wow. You have just written 2 really interesting posts. I'm commenting on both. Maybe it's because we are similar age.

Cartoons just aren't the same these days. Scooby Doo was my favorite. In fact, I liked the cartoon so much, that I actually got excited about the movie that came out a few years ago when I was adult age, but, in my opinion, it was horrible and very disappointing!

We had taken my nephew and we (noth adults) thought it was entirely too scary to be a Scooby movie. In our opinion, it needed to be toned way down.

The Flintstones were the best. I like the Jetsons too.
