When I was growing up, I was very close to my Grandmother. I always felt closer to her than to my own Mom. My Grandma LOVED John Wayne so one year I was in a shop that had all kinds of plaster figurines and I saw a bust of John Wayne. I bought it and painted it and gave it to Grandma. She Loved it! She has had it in her living room all these years.
My Grandma is in a Nursing Home now. She is there with my Grandpa. They are in their 90's. Grandma has Alzheimer's. In June of this year my parents came to visit us and Mom brought me the bust of John Wayne. FORTUNATELY my husband also loves loves John Wayne :) So now it sits in MY Living room :)
It just brings back special memories!
